Rosemont Community Hall 2807-10 St NW (on Confederation Park)

11:00 – Event Registration table will open – $5.00 per dachshund attending.  Each dog will get a goody bag (while supplies last), & door prize ticket.

11:00 – The Junk Yard Dog Cart will be firing up to offer some fantastic, over the top hotdogs – these are not your ordinary wieners, $5 includes a drink

- There will be pop & water sold separately – $1.00 each.

- For our little furry friends Pupsicles – $1.00 each

We will be doing some demonstrations & other fun stuff until the races start.

11:00 – Race registration table open until 12:30 – $5.00 per dachshund racing registration table is set up in the hall.

1:00 – Races Start.  6 heats of 10 dogs to determine the qualifiers for the finals.

2:30 – The Race Finals begin – there will be 2 heats of 10 dogs

2:45 – Door prize draw, every dog that paid registration will get a ticket to enter. Entry box will be set up at the concession window in the hall.

3:00 – Drawing of the prizes, you do not have to be in attendance but must arrange to pick up prizes, tickets sold in the hall.

3:30 – Race Finals

Alberta Dachshund Rescue, showing off some of the pups that are looking for their special human. Keep an eye out for them in their fancy little jackets. We are also accepting gently used dog items for the Rescue, there will be a donation box set up at the ADR table. Anything from collars to kennels are welcome.

NO PUPPY SALES OF ANY KIND!  IF YOU ARE A BREEDER AND WISH TO ATTEND, PLEASE LEAVE ANY PUPPIES AT HOME.

Dogs are allowed in the hall but should be pottied outside (please clean up after your pup inside or outside),  doggy bags will be available if you forget yours.

All dogs must be on a leash at all times except when inside the race course.

This is an outdoor event so please plan for whatever weather Mother Nature gives us; if it’s nice, bring a lawn chair and shade for your dogs.

We ask that you not bring a dog that does not have current vaccines; we have some young pups attending and we wouldn’t want them to catch anything!

We will meet at 11am and the walk will begin at 11:15am (in case people are running late). Don’t forget bugspray and sunscreen for you and water for your pups; hope to see you there!

If you wish to bring another breed of dog to our indoor events, it must be one from your own household and it must be on leash at all times, or be put into an exercise pen which you must provide. We just want to keep all dogs safe and happy. If they are not kept under control, or are not behaving, they will have to leave and we will ask you not to bring them again.

Ultimately, this is a dachshund club which is why everyone joined. If we start allowing all breeds to attend our indoor functions, then this is no longer a dachshund club and some of our members may decide to stop coming out. One of the benefits of this club is socialization for dogs that are afraid of (or don’t do well with) other breeds. I know some dogs in the club are afraid of bigger dogs. Also some dogs in the club don’t like the small “fluffy” breeds and may try to pick a fight with them. We have also had incidents where a bigger dog has stepped on or “rolled” one of the dachshunds, and where the dachshunds have become overly curious or aggressive towards the other breeds which has caused problems.

We sincerely hope you understand why we decided to put this into place. This was a difficult decision to make but we hope it will make everyone’s experience with the Lowriders a great one.
