Non-Member Participation Fee
• A non-member participation fee will be charged to a resident of Canada who is a non-member of the CKC.
• The non-member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual.
• In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level.
• All Premium Lists will carry a note stating the fee applies only to dogs wholly owned by non-member residents of Canada and is not applicable to CKC members.
Information
1. A non member who is a resident of Canada is subject to the fee. Dogs co-owned with a CKC member are exempt, as are CKC members. The fee is the same as the ERN fee.
2. There are two options for non-members:
a) Join the CKC
b) Pay the Non-Member participation fee
3. Dogs co-owned by two or more individuals; the first person listed in the CKC dog records will be considered the caregiver of the dog and all communication will be sent to this person.
4. A dog that is wholly owned by two non members, one residing in Canada and one in the USA or foreign country, the fee is charged to where the dog lives. If the dog lives out of the country the dog must have an ERN.
5. The fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual.
6. In order for the title to be awarded, non members will receive a letter from CKC Head Office informing them they have 30 days notice to either join the CLUB or pay the Non-Member Participation fee.
7. Failure to pay the fee within 30 days of notice will cause the title to be withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level.
8. Once a title is withheld and notice is given, any subsequent titles earned will automatically be withheld without further notice.9. The fee is applicable starting when the dog earns its first title.
Example(1): dog achieves title in November must pay entire fee or become a member in the year it was earned.
Example(2): the dog earns a title in 2010 the nonmember exercises one of the two options; if the same dog earns another title in 2011 the non member must again exercise one of the two options.
Please note that the CKC Membership Application and the Non-Member Participation fee form are available on the CKC website under CKC Services and then Forms On-line. If submitting a Membership Application, please ensure that you also complete the Non-Member Participation form so that we are aware of the dogs involved.
